The Hindhead Music Centre, originally known as the Hindhead School of Music, was founded in 1975 by the harpist, Ann Hughes-Chamberlain, whose aim has always been to offer excellence in music tuition to everyone, from complete novices to post-graduates, from toddlers to pensioners, to gifted musicians and to those who just want a rewarding hobby, and to those with learning difficulties, in fact to everyone. No-one has ever been turned away.

The Hindhead Music Centre aims to fulfil the musical potential of each and every pupil, and very often greatly exceeds this.

Ann Hughes-Chamberlain's philosophy is that music is a language which can reach every single mortal being and bring unrivalled joy if only they have the opportunity to discover it.
